The toolkit has been developed in partnership with parents, NHS England, the London Maternity Clinical Network, SANDS, bereavement midwives, chaplains and obstetricians.

Health professionals from across the NHS and beyond are being urged to adopt the latest version of the world’s first evidence-based guideline on the use of emergency oxygen, published on Monday 15th May 2017. The updated guidance is based on new evidence about how effective prescribing and delivery of emergency oxygen for patients can both improve health and save lives.

The Maternity Transformation Programme have published Implementing Better Births: A resource pack for Local Maternity Systems. Better Births recognised that its vision could only be delivered through transformation that is locally led, with support at national and regional levels. The resource pack is designed to help Local Maternity Systems to lead and manage that local transformation.

The Wales Maternity Network has developed a ‘Safer Pregnancy Wales’ campaign in collaboration with 1000 Lives Improvement. The campaign highlights the importance of keeping safe during pregnancy to reduce the risk of stillbirth and aims to help expectant mothers and healthcare professionals keep talking.

The London Mental Health Clinical Network has launched a new leaflet providing information on Help and emotional support during pregnancy. The leaflet is for women who are pregnant, or who have a baby under the age of 1 year old who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as depression and anxiety, and provides information on how to self-refer to their local IAPT Service.

BBC Radio Wales aired a news story on May 2nd 2017 regarding the ongoing investigation of the Tawel Fan ward at Betsi Cadwaldr Trust in North Wales. Families affected contacted the BBC and requested the latest developments are placed in the public domain. It is suggested that the quality of care on a scandal-hit ward for dementia patients may have contributed to at least seven deaths.
